National Ceramic Festival opens in Binh Duong |
The 2010 National Ceramic Festival was held in Thu Dau Mot town in southern Binh Duong province on September 4.
The event attracted the participation of most of the traditional ceramic-making villages across the country showcasing their products in more than 600 stands.
The first ever national festival, to celebrate the traditional craft of ceramics, includes exhibitions of antique ceramics, music and dance performances, and a ceramic-making competition.
Record-setting Vietnamese ceramics will also be showcased during the festival, which will last until September 8. These include the largest pair of Cham ceramic jars, the largest teapots, and the biggest ceramic statue.
This is a good opportunity for craftspeople, artisans, scientists and ceramic collectors from within the country and abroad to meet and share experiences in developing Vietnam’s ceramic market in the current process of international integration.
Under the theme “Ceramics in Vietnam – Tradition, Character and Development”, the festival is one of the activities to mark the 65th August Revolution, National Day, and the 1,000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi. – VOV | | | |
